In 1893, Bawo & Dotter a US company built its own factory in Limoges, calling it the Elite Works. The stamp Elite France or Elite Works France was used between 1892 and 1900. From this period, 1900 to 1914, the pieces were marked Limoges, France, with a red shield showing St. Mark and the words “Elite Works” above it and “Limoges France” below it. The same mark, but in green, was used from 1920 to 1932.
