Here is a amazing piece of antique Victorian needlework. The antique pelment features a floral needlepoint design and beading along the top edge and hanging in loops all around the bottom. The floral needlepoint designs are beautiful and vividly colored. The beading is abundant and heavy.
Antique Needlepoint Needlework Pelmet Measurements: 20" wide across the top needlepoint area; Needlepoint = 7 1/2" long. Beading Loops hang another 2-3/4" below the needlepoint - for a total length of 11" approx.
The back of the antique needlepoint pelmet is covered with fabric.
Antique Needlepoint Needlework Pelmet Condition: There is some wool stitching loss within the needlepoint pelmet. The photos show where the needlepoint wool loss is. As well, there is a small amount of beading loss along the narrow top edging. Many strands of missing beading on the hanging loop fringe.
The buyer will want to repair the loose areas of the beading on the top narrow edging so more beads are not lost.
This antique needlepoint needlework pelmet is gorgeous even with its imperfections however the buyer may wish to have it framed or display it carefully perhaps on a mantle or shelf where it can be observed but not heavily used.
