Here is a beautiful antique Zardozi pillow cover filled with gorgeous metal thread work in silver and bronze. Era early 1900 - 1920.

This antique Zardozi pillow cover would also make a lovely framed wall decoration or displayed carefully on a shelf to protect it from further wear.

The fabric is a black cotton velvet with a black silk backing and fringe. It looks to be hand sewn at the two sides and has a dome enclosures at the bottom.

In the center area of the antique Zardozi pillow cover is the Taj Mahal. The antique Zardozi pillow cover motif features very heavy silver mesh and coiled threads of varying thicknesses that have been used to create a rich 3D effect. There are 2 large stylized branches with leaves and flowers on the left and right side. At the top of the branch on the left and right side is a bird and flowers. The embroidery threads are red and green, and batting is white to pink shade of color. This may be faded from a red color.

Antique Zardozi Pillow Cover Condition: Good condition for it's age. Some areas of the embroidery and batting over which the real metallic silver is sewn are slightly loose. There are a few silver “threads” and wrapped coils that are loose. The silver is tarnished, as is to be expected.

I saw a few areas were the velvet is rubbed and the pillow case cover is dusty in spots.

The back silk has a little bit of discoloration here and there.
