This is a pretty antique patchwork lace doily that has been created in a Normandy style using different types of laces. These lace pieces have been been hand sewed together in a patchwork fashion. The attaching of the laces has been hand stitched.
The antique lace doily has bobbin Lace, Point de Gaze needlelace and needlerun embroidery. Some of the antique vintage laces are handmade and some are machine laces. The antique doily is ivory but also includes 3 small pieces of peach lace and 1 small piece of yellow lace. The antique doily is finished off with a small Valenciennes lace edging.
Antique Lace Doily Measurement: 8" x 8". Antique Lace Doily Color: Ivory color with multi-colors.
Antique Lace Doily Condition: The antique lace doily is in very good condition. The lace edging has has a small repair at the seam. The antique lace doily looks clean however it is in "as found" condition in that I have not washed it.
The antique lace doily would look lovely displayed on a table or framed. The antique lace doily would also be a beautiful centerpiece if creating a boudoir pillow.
