Here is a lovely antique handmade lace Normandy patchwork style doily that has been created on net from small pieces of different types of laces. The construction of the antique lace doily is that these lace pieces have been been hand sewed together, patchwork fashion in a French Normandy style. The attaching of the antique lace pieces onto the antique table doily have been hand stitched.

The antique lace doily has embroidered flower motifs that have been done on the net. There are 2 areas on the antique doily with bobbin lace flowers & 4 tiny triangles of whitework embroidery that has been done on thin cotton fabric on the antique doily. The antique doily is finished off with a small Valenciennes lace edging.

Antique Table Doily Color: White color.

Antique Table Doily Condition: On the antique doily there are a few small holes to the net in the detailed area. On the outside ruffle edge it looks to be a different type of net. This area the net is larger than the net in the center area of the doily. The embroidered cotton material looks open and fragile when I closely look at it and I can see a few tiny holes in the thin cotton embroidered fabric.

The antique doily is in "as found" condition in that I have not washed it & will leave this for the buyer to complete.

The antique doily would look lovely displayed carefully displayed on a table or framed to further protect the antique doily.
