This antique pillow cover layover sham features skilled hand embroidered work & drawn work.

The pillow layover sham cloth sits on top of an existing pillow. The pillow cover sham layover is a single flat piece of cloth which does not have a backing for a pillow to slide into it.

Embroidery - 3 figural angel cherubs, a dragon & a flower design. Needlework - Mosaic punchwork, drawnwork pulled threads.

The square pillow cover layover sham is the most heavily embroidered along the bottom of the cover with the 3 single angel and dragon figurals. The sides of the pillow cover layover are also embroidered with a flowing flower spray up the side edges.

The pillow cover layover sham is nicely finished off with a drawnwork ladderwork technique around the 4 sides edges.

Measurement: 30" x 34 1/2"

Other uses for this lovely embroidered panel would be a small window covering or a table cover cloth to display your treasures.

Pillow Sham Layover Condition: The pillow sham layover is in very good condition and I saw no obvious faults to it. I saw 1 broken bride to the drawnwork on the left side of the panel. The pillow sham layover is in "as found condition" in that I have not washed it and will leave this for the buyer to complete.
