This is an vintage French black lace head scarf covering. I believe that the vintage black lace head scarf cover is homemade. The vintage black lace head cover scarf was created using net lace with a overall dot design and then applying a flower leaf Chantilly lace edging at the bottom edge. I can see the hand stitching with brown thread that is on the reverse side of the vintage head scarf cover. The vintage black lace head scarf cover was a purchase from France.

Vintage Black Lace Head Scarf Cover Condition: There is a small break along the top where the edging meets the net that will need a repair. A small hole to the net. Also, some wear to the applied lace edging at the scallop edge. I have included a couple of photos to show examples of this. Please click and enlarge the photos of the lace edging to see each area. Repairs needed on the vintage lace head cover scarf.
The lace edging at the top and the bottom edge has been hand stitched in brown thread.
The vintage black lace head scarf cover is as found. This was stored away for many years along with other laces. It will need to be washed and mended before use.
