A very pretty curved shape handmade antique lace collar that is Irish crochet work. The Irish crochet lace collar is very meticulously put together with the finest of details of tiny motifs that resemble 'crochet with lace stitch'. The Irish crochet collar is a bertha style collar with tiny scalloped edges around the sides.
Antique Handmade Irish Crochet Tiny Motifs Bertha Collar Measurements: 50" bottom edge from left to right; 37" upper edge from left to right; 6 1/2" deep.
Circa: Unknown to me however this handmade Irish crochet collar is similar to one that is in the MAAS collection which gives approximate age as 1840 - 1850's.
Antique Handmade Irish Crochet Tiny Motifs Bertha Collar Condition: Left side in photo shows approx 8 tiny breaks to the crochet work. Along the top upper edge 2 nicks to the lace edging where it was removed from the original. Likely a few breaks within the lace piece that were not noticeable to me when taking the photos.
