Here is an antique oval porcelain covered serving bowl vegetable dish by Elite Works, Limoges, France. The pattern is Bridal Wreath. The pattern is a pretty garland of pink & lavender flowers with green leaves.
The antique oval covered serving bowl covered vegetable dish has a speckled gold trim on the handles of the vegetable dish and the lid. There is no gold around the inside edge of the vegetable dish or the scalloped edge on the lid.
Antique Limoges Bridal Wreath Serving Bowl Covered Vegetable Dish Measurement: 9" long (not including handle area) & 6 5/8" wide. 3 1/2" high to the top of the base (not including the lid).
Antique Limoges Bridal Wreath Oval Serving Bowl Covered Vegetable Dish Condition: No nicks, chips, cracks or crazing. No obvious surface scratches. The gold on the top handle of the lid and the handles has some wear (please see photos. The inside porcelain bowl's 3/8" top edge is unglazed.
On the bottom of the serving bowl there are some black rubbing marks from rubbing against a surface.
The stamp on the bottom of the antique serving bowls reads: Elite L France & the second stamp reads: Elite Works Limoges France.
The antique porcelain oval serving bowl covered vegetable dish was manufactured by Bawo and Dotter under the Limoges Elite Works stamps, France. Here is some information to determine the approximate age of the antique oval covered serving bowl.
In 1893, Bawo & Dotter a US company built its own factory in Limoges, calling it the Elite Works.
The stamp Elite France or Elite Works France was used between 1892 and 1900.
From this period, 1900 to 1914, the pieces were marked Limoges, France, with a red shield showing St. Mark and the words “Elite Works” above it and “Limoges France” below it. The same mark, but in green, was used from 1920 to 1932.
